My Duster's getting nothing but the best...RMS AlterKtion! My helper agrees, it's the best setup out there!

I am sorry I just don't care for square tubing, don't think it looks nice.

hands down the alterkation in my opinion is the best. strong enough for the street and engineered for race car speeds.

Where are those inner fender panels? Looks like a baby pro mod!

Baby pro mod...with a windshield wiper motor...lol!!

Oh sorry should have said outlaw 10.5 car as they have smoothed factory fire walls. Do like the aftermarket steering column and race brakes and no radiator in front of car!

so i made a panel to go over where the heater motor and hose holes were? my car is more of a street car than yours shot i even have a heater!. So my radiator is in the trunk i guess i missed that rule to. All steel car weighing 3300lb with heat and a stereo and you want to call mine a baby pro mod?

Andy you need to get your car at race ride height before you measure. I know you wanted to lower it, do that then measure.

But I run on pump gas not alcohol and have a crushing range of 150 miles between fill ups. I too have electric heater in my interior to defrost windows on cold nights on the street. I forgot Baby Pro Mod!!

The tubular K is super nice. I've always wondered why everyone just bolts aftermarket K frames to the bottom of the rails instead of using it as a structural member?

I built my K frame with an inner leg and cross bolt to strengthen the frame rails.

Really like your turbo layout! Will the exhaust be dumped in the front wheel well, or going down/back? This also looks extremely clean and well thought of. Really enjoy seeing that the tubing is inside the inner fenders, I guess it will be strong enough with the stiffened K-frame.

Ok so ive got it working now. Pretty good to. Got rid of almost all bumpsteer also.
Need a little softer springs though as the ones in there now is 450 lbs.
Looks like wilwood have some caliper brackets and hubs that will move the wheels in .42". Just want wilwood to verify it.
So i just need to do some finishing touches and im all good!

Ps tried some longer shocks for increased travel but that screwed up the angles BIG TIME.

Power steering ?
Hmmmmmmm.........an aristocrat.
It looks very busy , but should stiffen things up considerably.
Very clean build too.

Thanks. Don't want to hijack the thread. I've got a build thread in the projects forum and will answer any questions. Again, thanks.

This is all such great info. I am thinking of selling all of my unused but mounted MF parts, 2006 era. Not sure, but seeing this ! Nice info, guys.

I'm SOOOOOOO glad to see that I'm not the only one to have MAJOR problems with the MF stuff. Where do I start???? I got my kit early 2000's. My '70 Challenger has been a 15 yr. project. When it got time to install the kit it looked good. All powder coated. Never test fit. In hindsight that was my BIG mistake. When I did finally get it into the car, WOW !!!

1st. Car sat way too low. Headers were dragging the floor. Kit came with 14" shocks and they should have been 17". Springs had no compression. Too stiff. Called them. Got NO satisfaction. Made 2 1/2" spacers for the shock towers. Car sits fine but still has no suspension give. Weaker springs will help but ride height will be too low.

2nd. Oil filter didn't clear. Hemi motor on a ears. Called them. Again no satisfaction. Their fix, place washers between frame and K frame. They said that it wouldn't change the front end geometry. WTF?? Ended up notching the tube.

3rd. The tires were HITTING the fender lip. Center spacer weld Aluma-Lites with 205 tires. Couldn't turn them at all and that was with the tops of the tires 2" farther in that the bottoms. Either the lower control arms were too long or the upper ones were too short. Just to get the tires vertical had to adjust the upper heim joints so 90% of their threads were showing. Definitely NOT safe. Even after shortening the lowers. Called them again. Got no real answers. And NO, the car was never wrecked. I am the 2nd owner and have had it since 1973.

4th. The rack HIT the oil pump. Refer back to #2.

5th. The rack geometry will not LET the steering even work. I at least got the car to roll straight with out any problem. Toe, caster and camber are close. But as soon as I put any turn into it the tires want to turn in different arcs. I cant even push the car. Gave up even calling them.

This setup is the biggest POS I have ever seen. It's worth nothing to sell. None of this mess will transfer to an Alterkation piece. I have talked to my fab guy and he is willing to cut it to pieces and start from scratch but my budget won't allow that. So now I have a 95% completed project that sits there.

That's my rant.

What i think i have found out is that mf uses a somewhat custom wilwood brake kit that increase track width. Witch doesnt makes sence since wilwood do have a brake kit for mustang 2 spindles that doesnt change track width.
Im waiting for a reply from wilwood where i asked if changing hubs and caliper brackets to the non offset stuff will work.

Mine is a race only car so i think i will keep the mf crap as i dont care that much of the steering angles witch i know is screwed up.
It just amazes me how someone can sell this [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean].

with all the talent and knowledge on this site we should team up and design a working front suspension since most seems to have some issues

at least it should generate a interesting discussion
