Now, before I put it back in, I want to remove the old chipping paint and respray it (both tanks and core). I was going to use a brush on paint stripper, wait for the paint to start bubbling and then hose off. My question is: Will the paint stripper harm/cause leaks for my radiator? Is there a better/safer method one person can do around the shop to remove the old paint or is this OK?

BarrsRestoration enthusiast Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 287 Greenville, N.C.	Don't use paint stripper or you will have a royal mess trying to get it all off. Any residue left behind will ruin attempts to paint it. I've had excellent results sealing all openings and (glass) bead blasting them lightly. Then blow it really clean and spray a coat of black epoxy primer on it. When the epoxy has dried, apply the black color coat within the re-coat window. Usually you have between an hour and a couple of days minimum.
