I am thinking about doing a 4 door to 2 door conversion on a 64 Plymouth wagon. Is 64 Plymouth the only door that will interchange? Or will other years, or Dodge doors? I just need to know for sure before I start looking for a donor.

Doors from 1964 and 1965 Plymouth and Dodge 2 door post B body will work. Assuming this is a 1964 Belvedere wagon.

63 door fits but the latch is different. You can cut and weld the inside frame. Or use a 63 2 door as a donor and use the 63 B-Pillar for the conversion.

Thanks guys, I really would like to do the conversion, I just wasn't sure what year donors would work.
Now I know what to look for.

If I remember correctly the 63 windshield slant is different than 64. So the door will fit but the window frame portion would not.

63 door doesnt fit because the vent window has a different angle...

Thanks guys. My new 64 Plymouth Savoy wagon just arrived today, this is the car I am considering changing to a two door. But my wife decided she likes the 4 door look. So, I might not convert.

Good for her. Absolutely nothing wrong with a four door.

Other than 2 too many doors.

I hate cutting up a decent 2-door to change a wagon.

Silly me, I like the 2-doors better.

A cheap way to simulate a 2-door is simply remove the rear outside door handles.

Guys I wouldn't cut up a good car. I just thought if I found a rusty 2 door I might make the conversion. This is a really dry wagon. I just bought it from a member on here. Other than somebody doing a really bad paint job, I like the car. I can fix the color and drivetrain.

By the way, while you are looking at my new project, tell me how to remove the paint from the aluminum trim without hurting it.

Glad you got that wagon. Great car, great buy, great seller. Have fun with it. Please don't convert it to a 2 door.

just got my 65 coronet bout finished. I was going to make 2 door but donor car prices are out of sight. mine has glass frt end, no inner fender panels, firewall back 12 in,motor back 9 in, rack and pinion, p/w,a/c,dana ladder bars, full cage, fact buckets and console, luggage rack, back seat, carpet and 543 motor. I would not make mine 2 door if I had to start over. I think laquer thinner will take paint off of chrome. all chrome is on my car except rocker moldings cause of removable frt clip. build it your way , the way you and wife want it. one of my best friends is doing 64 like yours and doing as 2 door, just don't look right. good luck rick

Thanks guys. I am thinking more and more of leaving it a 4 door. The look is kinda starting to grow on me. And it will be a lot less work for me too!
