I have a number in my head, but I don't want to speculate on the hot side prices yet.
All I can say is... if it's not competitive with the centrifugal blower kits that are out there, I wouldn't even bother doing it.
well those things aren't cheap. The mopar units are almost 4k. That's why I built mine from a BBC kit. It was 1/2 the cost.

Exactly, so if I can't beat those I won't do it.

Just thinking out loud. A kit that utilized a production turbo - such as two turbos off a power stroke ford or Buick or cummins ( more knowledgeable people will know which ones are more ideal) - something people take off a production vehicle for an upgrade -may increase your chances. People buy the kit from you and pick up the turbos from craigslist ........ You could supply them as an option I think that would appeal to more people
I used to care but....... things have changed

To make this fit and be affordable for many vehicles... it needs to be a single turbo kit. The premise is to use magnum manifolds which are readily available. Because of that, there is no easy way to do twin turbo's. Keeping a custom header out of the deal is a HUGE cost avoidance. The manifolds are durable, and have already been shown to support 800hp+ on my combo at moderate boost (16psi). Not to mention, I could EASILY supply a single turbo to you guys that would break stock blocks... there is no reason for TWO turbo's to break your stock block... LOL Unfortunately there really aren't any single turbo's out there for you guys to go easily pick up from the junk yard either. Even if you look at the Holset Turbo's off the '94~2002 Cummins' stuff. It's a 360" motor (5.9L), but they only turn 3,000 RPM max. Put it on the 360" (5.9L) gas motors, and you'll be choked at the same 3,000 RPM point. Smaller turbo's from the GN's (3.8L) or other 4-banger stuff would be even worse. You would need a BIG diesel CID to work on a 6,000RPM 360" motor. Even then, the pressure ratio's (boost level) on the diesels is WAY above what we run on a gas motor. What this means is that the turbo is usually very inefficient at the lower boost levels we run at. There are certainly SOME diesel stuff out there that would work, but the prices of new turbo's are so cheap now, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do it like that. Part of buying a complete kit, is to ensure that ALL of the pieces your getting work well together. Gen 3 Hemi's are not going to be the first one's done, but if the small block kits take off I would certainly consider doing them later. By the way, I built the first new mock up hot side yesterday and it is looking VERY promising. Need to get it on an A-Body next, but should clear no problem.

I'm all ears on this one. Should probably go 8.50-8.70's in my Daytona and I'll need a power plant for it if I put the 572 in my new Duster.

Diz, I have a 74 dart sport, I have always toyed with this idea in my head but never followed thru with anything. if you need to see anything under the hood for mock ups let me know we live about 40 minutes from each other. I am in Macomb by the Selfridge base. you are more than welcome.
Scot B.
Thank you Kiddart
