Correct, another moparts member nonetheless (I forget his name, younger guy with a dart, lives in Washington IIRC) made a 318 turbo kit and no one bought them

That's my brother. We built the one kit using magnum manifolds, tested it on his car, everyone said they wanted them. When we listed it for sale it took probably 6+ months and countless tire kickers to find a buyer. It sold complete, Manifolds, Hot side, cold side, Turbo, BOV and WG. The price was very affordable for what was offered, but you know mopar guys.
As far as we know the kit was never used and is probably in a box somewhere in a garage. I think it went to Nebraska.
I commend you for doing this, and I hope it works out. I would plan on a very small run of these to test the market. Turbos have grown in popularity since we tried it 5 years ago, so that should help your mission.
His car is still turbocharged, PT76, and is finally getting a cage this winter to make it legal for the ET's its capable of. We turned it up once (12# spring) and it went 10.13@132 with no rollbar, on pump gas and after driving 80 miles to the track. Tech asked us nicely to not do that again so we changed the springs back. Obviously there is a lot more in it.

It's a 12:1 426" stroker. 3500lb, non intercooled e85. In a f body. Going to see how far the mp. 590 cam takes me, but I don't expect much with it. I guess there is only one way to find out.
your going turbo that engine

Why would you not turbo it?
stock block, big cubes, high comp, heavy car, all wear and tear on a stock block

This isn't the 1970s or 80s. 12:1 and sometimes higher is normal for forced induction. 2618 pistons, mls gaskets, forged everything and studded. I don't believe in the 600hp stock block theory. I'd like to make 650-700 at the tires, yes with a stock block. It's all in the tune. With gods urine (e85) fueling this engine, I have no fear. I'm more worried about the 8.75 breaking.

I like the idea. I have been an all motor guy, and still respect the all motor stuff, as it is what I am the most familiar with. I have recently started a new project which I haven't posted here because it is a non mopar build. I put a stage 5 Trick Performance Products kit on my 2001 Silverado. It was working great until an o ring failed in the stock 5.3L but that is beside the point. Trick makes fairly painless bolt on kits for the GM Trucks, and they work great. I like the idea of doing a mopar turbo kit. I would maybe not discount the big block guys yet, I like the idea of the small block turbo kit, BUT if you end up pushing the stock blocks, which won't take much with say, a Borg Warner S480 like what I run on my LSx project, to pop the stock block. Take a look at these Trick Performance kits for some ideas, the hot side is deadly simple, and believe it or not, they work GREAT. http://www.shop.trickperformanceproducts.com/As you can see, I haven't finished the grill fitment, and some other things etc. Before that o ring failed, it was a RIOT on 12psi, and it pulled like my car. I would like to do a turbo modern hemi build personally. I did the LSx because the kit was there, I love these 99-06 GM trucks, and the parts are easy to get. -Kenny
