A couple years ago I looked at a 69 GTX that was painted F8 because they couldn't figure out what 99 meant. Nobody had ever seen a GTX in Rallye Green, so it was definitely a special order, didn't even have the GTX lower trim and no sign it was ever there! The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it. JB Rhinehart, Realist A-Body's RULE!

6bblgt I Live Here Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 17,515 Las Vegas, NV	including the 2 examples shown in this thread I have info from: 7 Plymouth b-bodies (all Road Runners) with "99" special order paint & 925xxx VONs All are SPD'd between A23 (Wed. 10/23/68) and C03 (Tue. 12/3/68) All are from the LA plant No other 925xxx VON Plymouth b-bodies 3 are "rallye green" and 3 are "Omaha orange" (& one is unknown 9E125300?) What is the significance of the "16" (roof paint) on the OP's tag (shown prior to repaint in this attachment), even though it is a vinyl top car? RM21H9E116984 was originally "RALLYE GREEN" The hardtop RR in the upper right is the green interiored RR tag 69CoronetRT attached. I've also seen Omaha Orange codes that were 98. WAG - it has something to do with the "ASSUMED" "rallye green metallic" paint in association with the date of this car's build (possible first "rallye green metallic" car or batch?). BW has a few special order paint fleet car's info with "16" "20" and/or other odd 2-digit paint codes. My brother has a '73 Charger with "426" (it looks like JB9) & Nick's FM3 '71 R/T is "148".
