I guess I don't understand the question. You paid 1k to rebody your truck and the engine/chassis was ok? Whichever it looks great and a direct swap (gas v diesel cab) you made out great.

Sorry for the confusion. My truck was rotted to the max and I found this one. It cost me $1000. I swapped everything from my original truck (diesel 3/4 ton 4x4) onto the white truck (slant6 1/2 ton 4x4). This truck turned out AWSOME! There is just a few things that had to be changed. The trans cross member had to be moved back ,fuel tank and lines, the springs "adjusted" to the right amount of leafs and some misc. items. Also the entire electrical system from the diesel. All in all an easy build. What you see is all metal no bondo! Greatest truck ever.

i did the same with a 90 dodge diesel truck used on the ranch where during calving they would put distressed calves in the cab to keep it warm every interior panel had blood/(Poop)/kicked and torn to hell----i found a storage sale 90 dodge in virgin condition and made a body swap----one of my friends is still driving it...
