I guess I don't understand the question. You paid 1k to rebody your truck and the engine/chassis was ok? Whichever it looks great and a direct swap (gas v diesel cab) you made out great.

Sorry for the confusion. My truck was rotted to the max and I found this one. It cost me $1000. I swapped everything from my original truck (diesel 3/4 ton 4x4) onto the white truck (slant6 1/2 ton 4x4). This truck turned out AWSOME! There is just a few things that had to be changed. The trans cross member had to be moved back ,fuel tank and lines, the springs "adjusted" to the right amount of leafs and some misc. items. Also the entire electrical system from the diesel. All in all an easy build. What you see is all metal no bondo! Greatest truck ever.

That would be a 3 - 4K truck here in Hooterville even with a few dents and some minor rust; I'm thinking that is a keeper!

the white truck (slant6 1/2 ton 4x4).

Please tell me it wasn't a 4-speed: Those things are worth a good buck here........

That is a great deal

In my new area, 4x4s w/diesel sell for stupid money. When you made the changeover you had the chance to fix all the little issues that were never properly handled by Dodge. So now the truck is better than new with a 12 valve Cummins (better mileage and easier to mod than the 24 valve). Sounds like a winner for sure

i did the same with a 90 dodge diesel truck used on the ranch where during calving they would put distressed calves in the cab to keep it warm every interior panel had blood/(Poop)/kicked and torn to hell----i found a storage sale 90 dodge in virgin condition and made a body swap----one of my friends is still driving it...
