Not to hijack this thread but that car is a 1970 Cuda, full tube chromoly chassis with A arm front suspension, four link in the back with steel double adjustable Koni coil overs, Dana 60 with gun drilled 40 spine axles, 40 spline steel Moser spool with dual Wilwood calipers on the back and single caliper Wilwood disc brakes in the front. The main body and slide off front end is steel, the doors, front and rear bumper, hood and deck lid are lightweight racing fibreglas, Lexan side and rear windows with a lightweight safety plate windshield. Thick main web cold weather 400 block with ductile iron main cap and ARP main studs with a 4.25 stroke Ohio Crank Company crank cut down to fit in the 400,505 C.I. Diamond pistons, Comp Cams custom ground solid roller cam, Eddy Victor M.W. heads and a Indy 400-3 inatke with a AJ Castilini built E85 carb. Mikes Monter glide and Mikes 9 inch converter, removeable trans tunnel, Biondo 400 box and Shiftnoid air shifter and air throttle on it. It weighs 2750 with me in it at racing weight, minus me it weighs in under 2500 lbs It is a very good car, goes staright and repeats times. I didn't biuld it so it has to go I have a new car(1965 Dart 270 back half car that will certify to 7.50 ET) being built and I don't have the room to store two race cars or the desire to race two cars any more

We were able to drop the 60ft times from 1.38 to 1.34 by reducing air pressure. We run Good Years 14 X 31 and had been running them at 8.5 LBS. I called Good Year tech and they recommended 6.5 - 7 lbs. We have been reducing pressure by .5 lb.s each time out to see if the car gets hard to handle on the top end. So far, no effect on handling at all, and we are at 7.5 lb.s . If we get back out 7 lb.s next shot. Mark P.S.and we may switch to a Dominator carb and intake.

Thanks Brad and yes it was the first nos pass on the car,we ran another 2 with the same 26 jets and I am very very pleased. I pulled the cam before even putting the engine in the car and had Paul from IS give me a true nos type cam and I'm glad I did. neXT outing is Atco and the bigger jets are in it and ready to go being the day I was their it got very damp at night and the track wouldn't let us go

No prob 1.33 60' 5.63 @ 124 with not so much a click to the Santuffs or Caltracs on a 26jet. Should go like a sob with 36 and up jets. Brads iphone films like a potato chip.:) but you can see how tight we had the limiters and how good they work for now

My new best for the year, 9.37@142mph! 1.28 60' footbraking!
Randy
That's getting it done my car only went a 1.36 on that 9.51 run............but did a new best 60' of 1.26 this past weekend if I could of ran a better 60'when it ran the 9.50's could have ran that 40 ish..........
Nice.............how`d you get the 60 down so much?
Thanks! Put a newer set of tires on it and played with the shocks some. It seems like we are finally getting a handle on it.
Randy
Nice for both of you guys..............
That's what I'm doing new tires/shock adjustment. Trying to run more air in these new M/T slicks.
Lots of testing I know. Where r your tire pressures now? I`m curious about what my 29x10.5`s will want...........
With these new M/T they recommend 12 lbs min. at 3100 lbs. So i'v started there and went up i'v also been playing around with shock setting. I was right at 13 lbs when it 60'1.26.
Thankxxx I agree at the slightly higher pressures these days and I think 13 lbs. is a good starting point based on how it sits on the ground but we`ll soon see.............
I run the M/T 29.5x10.5. I get them used from a local grudge racer. They put 10 passes on them and sell them pretty cheap. Anyhow, with my ladder bar Dart Sport at 3225 lbs we found that the car likes 12-12.5 lbs. And Racerx, that 1.26 is awesome! You'll get 40's out of it for sure !!

I bought a set of take off 10.5 x29.5 from the same guy as Dartin. Put them on my 64 Belvedere N/SS car, 2 box stock Eddy carbs @ 3345lbs 1.290, 5.79@118.6, 9.127@147.58. The tires lowered the mph a tad but the early end of the track continues to get better. Considering the car has 185 passes and started at 9.42@143 last spring I'm pretty happy. The converter, engine, cam timing, lash have never been messed with. All tuning done with trans component lightening, shock/ladder bar/tire psi tuning. Even won a couple. Looking forward to next year. Doug

My new best came in the spring on the first day tuning my e85 carb, 10.54 @ 125.6mph. Since then I have tuned the carb, but the air has not been good so I haven't improved...but next spring I would think it would run a 10.4x in cool air without any trouble.
410 small block, ported Edelbrocks small street roller (248/254), Victor intake, 750dp carb on e85, 3200# street car, through the mufflers, 727, 8" converter, 4.10 gears, 275/60/15 radial.
67 Barracuda street car, 408, e85, 1.38 60', 6.44 @105.9 in the 1/8 mile, 10.19 @130.5 in the 1/4...so far....
