when we had our Duster, the doors were light weight Fiberglass...no mirrors but we kept the interior mirror to aide in backing up and to see where the other guy was at...

of course my street/strip cars have rear view door mounted mirrors...I don't see a problem, and those have steel doors

I do. It's simply a visual aid, much quicker and safer to glance in a mirror during a race than turning your head around like a owl. A bracket racer ALWAYS wants to know where his opponent is during a race.

I took mine off. Use the rear view inside if I'm being chased. It does make it more difficult to back up though.

I have the inside mirror on my car. I have the side mirror but for some reason I've been too lazy to install it. It's a remote mirror so it will take a little work as I want to keep that function. I guess I'll do it when I install the power windows.

Here's mine. Makes the car much more aerodynamic.

That's more the reply I'm looking for, aerodynamics or weight. I really don't see how you can keep track of your opponent in the outside rear view mirrors. I'm leaning to removing them for the aero advantage? Again, thanks for replies.

Have both the passenger and drivers side mirrors. No interior rear view. The cage and switch panel are in the way on the Cuda. The 67 Belvedere will get the rear view back once I replace the headliner.

Ok

if you have one outside mirror, you need both. how do you see your opponent in the outside mirror if you only have one on the driver side door, but you're lined up in the left lane, and the driver in the right lane is faster/chasing you down?

My coronets driver side only mirror comes in handy when racing faster cars and I'm in the right lane.If I'm in the left I have a better view of the faster car and can just turn around since wheel tubs etc. arent blocking my view.

Good winter excercises...loosening your neck muscles lol.

I have 5" convex mirror for the passenger side. I can see pretty much anything coming up in the right lane. Funny I usually get the left lane I would say 90% of the time anyway.. My Duster had Ebay specials on both doors.
