Depending of fuel level and whatnot. I'm between 3950 - 4000 lbs with driver too.
I'm 165lbs and the truck is a 87 reg cab short box with a small block.

I'm in the middle of swapping out the 518 and replacing it with an NV3500 and an aluminum driveshaft. It probably shed a couple pounds.

I have a manual transmission from a 94 Ram V6 1500. Speedometer gear from my old automatic which was a 1992 518 from a 5.2L Van. My rear differential is an 8 3/4 from an early 70's D150. I ruined my 3.23's and replaced them with a set of 3.55's. Tires are 275 60 15 which is nowhere near any stock size of any Dodge truck.
This bucket of parts is in my 87 Ram and I was just using my Father GPS (Global Positioning) to observe the error in actual speed vs observed speed. Dead on accurate. 100km/hr when the needle hides the little hash mark is 100km/hr. 120, same thing.

GPS

Well, progress is slow. I have the new steering wheel, just waiting for the adapter now. The tonneau cover is almost finished painted---it will be tan to match the interior. Ya i know, you guys need pics. Been super busy as we're just now in the process of trying to get a house we "bought"---between those hoops the banks makes you jump through and the wedding, just thinking about packing to move and our clubs last car show of the year in 3 weeks, im a little strung out right now. Will get some pics as soon as i can though.

makes me feel lazy when i see all your doing, the weather turned bad here but there is a car show complete with a burnouot contest next weekend hopefully i can convince someone to take some good pics, and my dads truck is still sitting but we are accumulating parts and we had to build a spacer for the intake so the 390 holley will fit , does anyone one know if its unusual to have a 727 behind a slant?

I know some trucks had them with a slant, but they are hard to find! Wagonmaster had a slant/ auto truck, but I think it had a 904.
Most slant drag racers use 904's....it might have somethin to do with hp loss....

Took the first test drive today in the truck. I have to replace the plugs after my porus metering block dumped gas and fouled them out. Other than that, just cruising along seems fine, will have to get the new plugs in to try and hammer it, but its good just to get it back on the road again. Now i have officially driven this truck 25 miles since getting it in febuary .
