6PakBee OP I Live Here Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 10,697 North Dakota	The conventional wisdom I've read for decades is that UV radiation from sunlight drives the plasticizer from the vinyl and as that happens the vinyl gets hard and eventually cracks. If you took a new dash pad (or one in great condition) and dyed it, would the dye protect the vinyl from the UV radiation and prevent the pad from cracking? "We live in a time when intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended".
