have you looked into a NV4500 5 speed swap?
Thanks, but I prefer driving an automatic transmission.

you are just be lazy with the auto trans. I can see your point though. I was thinking more of the gear ratio split from granny to 2nd you mentioned you did not like granny as it seemd to low and 2nd was a little to high to pull off from a stop all the time...this does make driving one a chore and gets old. But when it is geared just right it is a breeze and better mpg for a 4x4 IMHO. mine was a blast in low range 3rd gear 6200 rpm turning 4.56 gears and 17/40/15 hawgs in the mud pit up to door handles. BUT my auto never would wind up fast enough and did not spit u-joints like the 5 speed did either.they do indeed have their pros and cons.

To swap to auto from manual, don't forget to change the radiator (no trans cooler in a manual truck radiator) and run the trans lines to and from the radiatior. You can use an aftermarket floor shifter so that you don't have to swap the steering column for a column shifter, pretty easy.
Keep the NP203, nothing wrong with it and the best Fulltime 4wd case from the '70s, by far (I currently have two of them).
I have an extra BB auto 4wd truck that I'd like to sell, as well, but I'm in IA and probably a little far for you...although it would have all the necessary parts for your swap...

No need to swap radiator just get a trans cooler. I've swapped in a stick Rad in an auto truck and used an trans cooler. No issues.
Got pics of the truck? I'm just down the road

Why....cause it's rust free and it runs?
That would be my story, except the I would have to add: Its got shinny paint too.
I have a hard time understanding that "rust free" statement. Around here "rust free" means they are not charging any extra for the rust that is there. "Rust free" and "free rust" pretty much mean the same thing, in my world. Gene

No rust at all on this truck...the oil leaks provided a nice corrosion resistance! Kidding, of course. The yellow stripe kit is being reproduced. I do want to get the kit but I've really spread myself thin with all of the projects here. I don't list my cars or trucks, but along with this 75 PW, I also have a 78 Trail Duster, a 2007 Ram 1500, a 65 Barracuda, a 67 Dart GT, a 71 Duster, 73 Swinger, 74 Duster 360 and this:

Funny.wasn't the truck I was asking about anyway. But in Iowa if it Doesn't have rust it cost more.

In Iowa, if it doesn't have rust it's A) been restored, or B) it's not from Iowa! JS
