I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Raider (same as 2008 Dakota) with the Dodge 3.7 engine. I bought this truck new.
It just turned 100,000 miles and don't remember adding even a drop of radiator fluid. (The oil change guy probably did, but it's never been low) It has that Orange stuff. Still nice color orange to it. The paper towel is quite clean.
So wadduya think, should I change it, or not mess with success?

A coolant test strip that show PH and then Reserve Alkalinity is needed with the newer non green coolants.
A simple electrolysis test reading under 300mV is helpful too.

Just pick up some Zerex G-05 from NAPA, flush the system and replace the 'stat (use OEM Mopar), and you'll be good to go for another 100k.

IIRC around 06 they started using an orangeish color that wasnt Dexcool.Its supposed to be good for 100K or around 5 years.Id change it.Just use the new type thats universal.Under no way use DexCool.Rocky

As far as I know the orange stuff is dex cool. It says so on the label. I switched back to dex cool a few years ago, it's the right anti freeze to use today.
To the original poster, I would change it and the thermostat and the hoses at 6 years old. Just like Ahy suggested. I would use dex cool for sure if you want it to last another 5 years.

DexCool is total crap.Ive flushed so many GMs with plugged systems its unreal.The newer stuff is extended life and is not DexCool.Id say in 50 cars with Dex only one got it back in.Then it was customer request.Others all got the new universal type.Thats all we run.If you look at new cars coolant is many colors.Some is even red.Rocky

Don't use dex cool at all. Use the proper coolant which is a HOAT coolant.Zerex Z-05 or the Mopar stuff will work.

This. Though many don't believe it, the vast majority of the "universal" coolants are Dex-clones, meaning they are either Dex-cool or very, very close. Most of them are OAT (like Dex-cool) instead of HOAT (like G-05) and contain 2-eh, the plasticizer which caused all of the GM LIM gasket failures. The only exception is Peak Global Lifetime, which does not contain 2-eh, though it's sibling, Peak Long Life, does. Prestone AMAM is another Dex-clone.
