A new challenge.
car came w/o fog lights.
added the fog light fixtures, (factory wires present)
purchased new headlight switch, (pull for fog light)
car mfr date is 8/05, purchased switch for "up to 10/05", parts dept used VIN to determine correct switch for application.
Under hood fuse panel is full, all fuses pass voltage and ohm check.
Cannot find passenger cabin fuse panel, believe they were deleted after 06, visited wrecking yard, none of the 06 newer have panel at drivers left knee

ignition on, car idling.
in parking light position, pull fog light,no power to wires at lamps. same with driving lights on in high or low beam (not supposed to work in high beam)

If you do the complete install, and they still don't work, you may need to go to a dealership and have them flash the computer for fogs.

just off the phone with the local dealer where i purchased the 108.00 switch yesterday.
only the service manager was aware of the need to flash the computer to enable this function...more money Please.

knowing what i know now....
i would not suggest installing factory driving lights.
( 108.00 switch, 95.00 flash service + the lights)

instead..
1. buy the lights
2. install a fuse at the B+ and run a wire direct to the lights.
3. interrupt the wire with a 10.00 relay with the N.O. side of the relay.
4. tap onto the parking light circuit, use this source to run your relay. No load will be applied to signal source.

were talking 70.00 vs 270.00, and your high beams wont cut out the driving lights.

as much as i enjoy the car, i am tired of Chrysler getting their fingers in my wallet.
(pay for a code after buying a spare key?)
(charge to enable fog light after selling you all of the hardware?)
thank you to the list for the assistance

just found this on cherokee srt8 .com

"Starscan tool"
"I bought a starscan to turn on some featues I want:

- Fog lights on with high beam
- Turn down rear view mirrors in reverse
- Front seat video (in park only, unless you lockpick...)
- Remove seat belt chime - I never drive without the seatbelt, so i don't need the annoyance when parked

If anyone needs/wants to use it, it is available locally....

Anders"

i wish i were local to him, sounds like it does a lot.

My 04 did not need a reflash, this must be something in the updated (06-up) models.
Just putting it out there for anyone else contemplating this update.
BTW, the bulbs are #904, I called the dealer and they were under 5 bucks but they had to order 10 (!) so I've gotta source them aftermarket.

Local parts store should carry them.

my 2000 caravan came without fog lights. i used a factory fog light harness from a dakota i got in a box of junk at a swap meet. i tied the fog harness into the park light circuit, ran the hot side to the battery connection in the under hood fuse box along with the hot wire to the lights.[using a relay of course]. then i ran the ground for the relay to a small toggle switch on the dash. this allows me to run the fogs with the light switch in any position or not have the fogs on at all.

Great way to go! agree with every thing.
Especially like that you switched the ground for your relay, many would have run the power up to the switch then back to energize the relay.

Went to the wrecking yard, they all look like mine after 8/05.
does anyone have an 06 or newer with an interior fuse panel, i believe they do not exist (under-hood, only)
