Its been awhile since I've raced at Quaker City and really enjoyed myself. The track and traction were GREAT and the grounds were cut and very nice. I was finally going over all the data from my runs (11) from the Curt George Memorial race. Quaker City was always .10-.15 slower for me than Pittsburgh Raceway Park in the same type weather but not so last weekend. I even ran a 10.04@129.58mph (my fastest pass of the year). I remember when nhra ran Super Gas and Super Street there years ago they actually factored the track (10.05 and 11.05). My question is did Norm change the track elevation to unfactor the track or is the traction that much better than before? My 60 foots are 1.36 at both tracks.

We ran about the same as Trails the week before but the weather was tricky up there. Friday and Saturday it was cool and dry but Saturday there was a headwind. Sunday there was tailwind but it was hot and humid.

We raced there from the early 80's till around 2006. My car was always .10 -.15 slower at Quaker vs 42 or Norwalk.
Also you did recall correctly NHRA did factor the Super Gas and Super Street index when they ran there.
We always felt the slight up hill grade after the 1/8th was the difference. But even back then the 60' times were slower as well. For me usually about .03 slower.
The track elevation does not appear to have been changes from when we ran there.

Ok

The track crew did a great job all weekend. Friday night the track got wicked around the semi finals but it was VERY cold and then the dew moved in. The track does appear to run slightly up-hill but sometimes that can be hard to judge. I did some hood modifications several days before this race and I was trying to figure if it was a performance gain. Looks like rain in the forecast this weekend so I may not make and 1/4 mile passes till after the Ten Grand Nationals at Norwalk.

Quaker is definitely up hill at the end. Typically lowered my MPH by 2 and ET around .15 on my mid-11 street car when compared to National Trail or 42.

But I talked to a guy running a Gen III Challenger and he was running 10.9s and I said thatd be a tenth or 2 quicker at Norwalk and he said no I ran at Norwalk it ran a 10.9 up there too. He has also run Quaker for years and he was wondering how it was turning Norwalk times too.

Been there many time, earned my alcohol license there, would have qualified #3 that day on my license runs. Then had a runner up there racing top alcohol at a division race, actually out run jeff wilson but he got me at the tree which don't happen often. I was always top 5 in the country in reaction times out of 120 alcohol dragster drivers across the country.

Based on my experience with my cars
[been running there since 1983}: when I was running 11`s/12`s Quaker was about 10th slower,as I got quicker MPH was still down at Quaker IE.you are climbing a hill the last 300 ft. ,but the E.T. gap narrowed.

Now on my traction limited boosted street car Norwalk is quicker and faster 1.5 ET./2mph.

I believe some of the variation in results is where your car makes its move or is lacking in perfection.
