What is the current method of restoration of a 69 b-body front suspension ? Cosmolene the LCA and deal with trying to keep them clean ? Or use the battery spray... and have it not look exactly correct ?
What is best coating to use on the UCA and other bare metal components ?

I restored mine with the battery protector as you may have already seen, but I'm going to redo them with Rick's new product out of the rattle can.. Should be to my house pretty soon.....

The upper control arms I cleaned up and since they are bare metal, I'm going to use the Krylon clear Matte finish for it, as well as, all my other bare/natural steel components (i.e, knuckle, ball joints, etc). The matte is perfect for corrosion control, retains the natural metal look and makes for a real easy clean up later on down the road.

Here's a job I did for my buddies 69 Runner. Upper and lower control arms are original type cosmoline product that I came up with. I don't see what the big deal is about keeping clean? If you use the right product in the correct manner and let your parts hang for a good while before installation these dried down pretty nice for me. This car sees its fair share of road time and they clean up great. One of these days we are going to do the rest of the body and paint. Enjoy!
