That high of compression should be run on alcohol with iron heads IMO, but you already know that.

On gas I'd recommend a fuel like Sunoco Maximal It's like 114 or so octane. A step up from Sunoco Supreme which is 112 octane.

Greg; Kevin dropped of a 426 wedge for me to flog on. It started out as a 413 truck block that he bored to 426, it was in his son's RR drag car for a year and then was loaned out to a friend to finish the season with. It ran 12.80's in a 3800lb car. I dyno'd it with a 850 on it and it made around 380hp on my dyno. I pulled it down to see why it didn't make more power and found out even with the 11.5-1 max-wedge pistons in it, it was only 8.4-1. I just put a set of 452's on it yesterday that I'd milled .100+ to get 9.4-1 out of it. Also did some figuring and I think my 4.15 crank will fit which brings things up to 471 and 14.4-1, end up with .042 quench with a .070 head gasket. One of my typical junk off the garage floor builds.
After I got off the computer I've got to go back out and finish bolting the 426 up to the dyno and make a few pulls. If everything works out I'm going to test a few different intake and carb combinations. Once I've finished those pulls I'll be pulling it down to mock up the 4.15 crank version to see if everything will fit.
Ted; It seems I've been collecting concussions like some people collect speeding tickets. I hope this one is the last one.Dave

If it aint alcohol, consider running a water system. At 21 lbs of boost, my static CR is around 15:1. I run 110 Sonoco and a "Snow" water injection system.
