dave571 OP master Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 5,314 Carstairs, Alberta, Canada	With a new powermaster starter, the ignition disconnected, and two red top optima batteries, it doesn't want to turn over hot. We've replaced the starter 3 times, and just upgraded the cutoff switch to a 300 amp unit. I recommended heavier wire to the owner of the car prior to the last starter change, but he wanted to try this first. The 2AWG wire that is in the car now, came with the Taylor wire products relocation kit. I know they sell the kit with 1awg too, so I was curious what other guys were using. We're running out of things to rule out.

There are several heavy grounds on this rig. We started there.

Welding cable will have far less voltage drop than a battery cable will and is also more flexable for routing. Back in the swing of things at Painless again! Great to be back!

I ran the BIG welding cable for years but when I re did my interior, I had Napa make me a #2 iirc which was way smaller AND lighter and it works great.
