Couple of questions...My '68RR is a hardtop. I am under the assumption that all of the hardtop models automatically came with the Decor package. Is this correct, and what exactly did the decor package give you? I'm mainly wondering about the rocker moldings. I know it gave the RR's a finish panel and upgraded interior. I dont have the rocker moldings on mine currently so I was wondering if it should even be a thought in my head.

Second, what are the proper seat medallions for my car? In looking at a bunch of 68 and 69 RR's in Carlisle, there seemed to be several different types of medallions in these two cars. Pictures would be great.

Thanks!

I'm no expert but the rocker moulding was an option and not part of the package, it is on my 68 and is called for on the tag. Not sure on seat medallions.

Thanks for the help. I have my tag, but no build sheet. What was/is the code for the moldings?

Try here http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=85 I am not sure of 68, but 69 Lynch Rd plant didn't list all options on the fender tag.

Option code 529 for "sill moldings", as Chrysler called them.

Odd that the Hemi would be $110 more in the Roadrunner vs the GTX.

I have a NOS cover for the back seat. Here is a pic of what I believe is the "date code" & the emblems. The emblems are aprox two inches long like the ones in my 69 RR.

The standard RR suspension would not be the same as the standard GTX suspension. The additional cost is to cover the upgrade plus maybe a couple of other things the GTX would have standard the RR would not.

Seeking:

1969 St. Louis plant VINs, SPD, and VONs.
Over 2,000 thanks to you!

I've looked at seat medallions before and at that time the bulk consensus was the longer medallions like posted above were on 68's and the smaller ones were the 69's. Although some 69's have the larger ones I'm going out on a limb and guessing they were still using up "old stock".

I also agree with this as my 68 came with it's original rear seat with the long medallions on it. (later verified when I pulled what was left of the B.S. out and matched numbers on it to the car)

Very interesting! The ones I found in Pa are just like the ones pictured above. Somehow luck was on my side and I was able to find a set of 8. Now I just need to "restore" them and get the seats recovered. Winter project for sure.

Here's where it would be coded on the tag - 1968 Lynch Rd., St. Louis, & Los Angeles.

The Roadrunner came with a 383 standard, where as the GTX was a 440. So therefore the extra cost.

This is just my Opinion but I have 3 early 69 B body cars and they all have the smaller medallions and my A12 has the larger ones like the 68's. I asked all around when I was redoing my 69 A12 bench seats and Frank B. said all 69's should be the long ones but I know for a Fact that the 1 69 is the Original interior, never changed or used much, and I know the original owner and it has the small ones.

My theory is that in early 69 they started using the small ones but when they sold so many new 69's they ran out of small medallions and started using the 68 medallions to finish the model year with. All the A12 guys have the tall medallions from my research. My satellite hardtop, my satellite conv, and my RR hardtop all have the small one.
Just my 2 cents on this subject.
David

Very interesting. I definitely wondered if something like that had happened while walking around Carlisle. The vast majority were the tall skinny ones, but I even saw a few cars with both. No one was around to talk to however.
