My Jeep has developed a shake in the front end from about 45 to 60 MPH. I carried it to a front end shop and was told that everything was tight. They re-balanced the L/F tire and nothing changed.Above 60 MPH it does fine. It does not shake while braking.Yesterday I had someone move the steering wheel back and forth with the engine running while in park. You can feel and hear a bump that sounds like it is coming from the steering box.Can the PS box be adjusted like the old manual steering boxes that came in early Mopars? I can see nothing loose in the front end components.I have driven it around 1,000 miles in the last two weeks but would like to get it fixed. Any Ideas or Suggestions will be appreciated!

If its a violent shake when road surface changes, after bumps etc.,I guarantee its a bad steering stabilizer shock....had a number of em come in that way.never had a track bar cure that complaint, but my experience doesn't mean that's how it is and always that way.as a sidebar, due to angles and tension, the ONLY way I've ever been able to prove a loose track bar is on its wheels with people pushing against the fenders.even the sloppiest won't show while hanging on a lift, regardless of the size of your pry bar.

On mine the frame end (tapered stud) of the track bar has loosened, actually, I think it was never tight when I got it.

It is very hard to get it adequately tight in the vehicle, so I removed the bracket from the frame (bolts on) clamped it in the vise, and tightened the he daylight out of it.

Took the clunk out of mine ... and searching on the Jeep Comanche forum tells me this is VERY common complaint ... wobble

It takes gasoline to interest me.

Is it lifted?

My 97 was stock height and any time it shook... was out of balance tires but I ran GY MT/R's.

Now my wifes 98 had a 4in lift and was pretty bad over 45 but only occasional. Whole frontend needed work and/or replacing tho, a 4x4 shop had told me that previous owner put lift on incorrectly.

check steering box to frame bolts, new track bar, new stabilizer, new shocks, make sure tires are ok.... that was the "usual" for those rigs.
