I'm in upstate NY, near Binghamton, long way away from here. I get up to southern VT quite often but still a long ways away. Love to see your cars sometime. Love both of them

Yeah, that is a little bit of a hike, but you're welcome anytime......

Jim, congrats on the big first cruise with the new bullet! Your buddie's black Chevelle looks bad-azz!
As far as your cooling issue is concerned, I suggest you find the absolute biggest pair of fans that will fit, that pull the highest CFM. Build or buy a fan shroud that covers all of the fin area, and seal the edges to the radiator.

Seal every crevice and tinniest of holes and large leading to the radiator.
Air is like water, it will find any least resistance and flow through it. You want every inch of air going through the front of the radiator with a much preferred puller fan/s and shroud on the back side (Engine side) of the rad.

I hadn't thought of air going around the radiator. There is a good size gap at the bottom that is 2" or so. I'm going to plug it with a bigger radiator that has a shroud and 2 big fans built in. The fans should be big enough to "taxi" to the gas station if I run out of fuel

Make sure the arewa between the bottom of the hood and the top of the thing that goes across under the hood is sealed also. If you run a trans cooler don't block the radiator with it.

At 45-50 MPH on the street my 499 KOS Demon would hold 180-190 but if I had to stop things got warm. I subsequently moved the trans cooler, replaced the improper fan with two thin ones (push and pull). It helped.

Jim, that is sooo awesome that you "Streeterized" it! Awesome-ness for sure. Please be careful. We had a guy driving his caged drag car on the street and got inot a fender-bender. Let's just say roll cages are not nice to heads. Have fun. Great car.

I had to take my wheelie bars off my Dart for the street.
Had a couple of incidents where people tripped over them at the local Dairy Queen.

my rad setup for drag week is inexpensive. speedway motors sells 29" dual pass radiator ($170) with a couple of ebay fans that cost around $15-20 each. I watched many guys over the years at drag week replacing expensive fans at auto parts stores. at $15 a fan, you can buy a spare to keep with you.

nothing beats driving your hot rod on the street

the car looks great
