They do sell a topcoat... I never tried it. But I use Magnet Paints Chassis black and had painted over it many times. Works better and cheaper than por 15, sold at carquest/napa.

Scuff it well or the primer and top coat will lift eventually. I asked a vendor and he said use 220.
Love them 68 MOPARS! GTS 340 auto, Charger R/T 440 4-speed, Superbee 383 auto, GTX 440 auto, D100 (new front frame 5.7 hemi - in process), Formula S 340 4-Speed A/C (it's green), 383 auto Roadrunner (maybe a hemi - waiting) and a 68 W200 Power Wagon. Drivers: 07 Cummins and 14 Ecodiesel 4x4.

Do NOT use the POR15 if you haven't already. Do a search here if you need validation. A good epoxy primer like PPG DPLF90 is much better.

I coated the entire sandblasted bare steel shell of my 71 HEMICUDA with POR-15 Clear after all the bodywork was finished, then topcoated that with DuPont primer sealer, POR 15 recommendations were NOT to sand or effect the POR-15 finish in any way prior to coating with a sealer or primer, I then primed/blocked the car, the finish coat was single stage DuPont Centari enamel,....that was in 1994, that was over 2 decades ago, the finish on the car, the body work, the POR-15 base are still flawless in finish/appearance, like anything in the automotive bodywork/paint application trade, prep, prep, prep, and attention to detail yields results

Just curious why you went that route...(POR15)
Is that your preference over an etching primer???
My experience with POR 15 is limited...
I painted the brake drums with black POR
Holding-up well after 20+ years...
I painted some batter-tray bolts with the clear...
Didn't hold-up worth a schnit...
That was one of my toys that I deviated on, I was interested in trying a new technique during it's restoration, generally I prefer Acid Etchant in the Dupont Vari-Prime line to topcoat a freshly blasted frame/shell, then followed by a high build primer like 2K in the Dupont line
The POR-15 has had no issues over the years, nor the topcoats, I've used the Chassis black on several projects in the mean time with no issues either....
