Why I like "Magnafuel" fittings over other brands. Compare of Aeroquip (left) to Magnafuel. -6 AN to Holley float bowl fitting.

Just a representative of how nice their fittings are finished off - in and out.

In my observations over the years, the aero fitting will start to build up with particle debree that the filter lets pass and will eventually deposit a big enough debree chunk to go into the needle n seat. Magnafuel has a radius to them where the debree is not able to build up and small enough to go through the needle. Less maintenance
I run a complete Magnafuel system and have always used them once I bought it for the first time
I agree. The flat or squared portion of that fitting " can" trap debris. Is it a problem, who knows. Maybe it can be, maybe not. Might never realize it.Take that apart after some time, and I almost guarantee thats where you'll see the brown, crusty and tarnished material.
I was invlovled once in a fluid dynamics presentation, and it was amazing what would happen to fluid, in similar sitautions such as this, under pressure. Quite simply, you always want to straighten out the fuel first, regardless of where it is going. That is why you see some longer fuel inlet fittings. Yes, it spaces the connections farther away from the carb, but its to also give the fuel a straight path to start with. In my opinion, any dispruption isnt helpful. Used to see the same thing in air flow. Eddy pockets develop ( a little different with fluids) and it really wreaks havoc. I would think most of the time, in most of everyones application here, it isnt a giant issue, but its just good sound principal. Higher flow fuel systems, definately. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

When I switched over to a blown motor I decided to buy a complete fuel system from Magnafuel for my application. Included everything ( all the necessary fittings from the fuel cell to the carb ) except the fuel lines. Not one 45 or 90 degree fitting in the bunch. My Bro ran the air flow room for International Harvester for 20 some years. One of his favorite sayings; "five 90 degree bends equals a cork."
I ran the air flow in the fuel area at work and flow is flow.. the more you mess with it with fittings or 90s the more its messed up... thats why they make the 90*radius turn fittings... big difference to the 90* fittings that are drilled so it plows into a wall ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)
