Just puy together my 8 3/4 for my 67 abody. On my axles I put a gasket in between the axle housing and the backing plate and one inbetween the axle flange and backing plate. I was one gasket short so on the other side I put one in between the housing and backing plate and used silicone in between the flange and backing plate. Will this be okay? Thanks

If it were me ...I would get some bulk gasket material and make one up.

That will work fine, the gaskets are to keep dust out.

Ideally you want a steel shim gasket between the backing plate/housing & a white foam gasket between bearing flange/backing plate but as mentioned a wide enough swath of gasket cement(perfect use for rtv) will work. You just want it sealed from water/dust.
