So being Dads day weekend I might get a hall pass to go racing. However the closest track is having "Grudge Race" Saturday. Not many details, what is that all about? Is it worth it to go out? I just want to get some seat time. Don't really care about winning money or a trophy.

Then don't get into a money race with anybody. There is probably more money being gambled in the stands anyways, at least at our track it is. Have some fun and sandbag your first pass and don't show what you have, even in the water box. Next pass try to line up in a good race and watch everybody bet against you. Then set it to kill...

You might as well make you some $$$ while you are out there.Win enough to not just cover your cost that day but enough $$$ to go race again next weekend.

Its basically a test and tune day with the boards off. Grudge races take priority. Don't know if they are having a gamblers race or any other classes running that day. These races are usually pretty packed. Think we got 3 or 4 passes last year and we were there from 1pm to 11pm. But there were alot of oil downs

One of my local tracks had Grudge Races last Sat. night and that place was packed with spectators. The racing started getting good about 9:00. About 10:30 it came a big rain storm. I was just there watching not racing. They had T&T until about 9. I bet they do that again because there was more spectators than normal.

yeah Cecil is like 2 hours. Capitol is 31 miles. I drive it, race it and drive it home.
I don't care to wager, I just want like 5-6 runs. If some guy wants to bet $100 on a car that's close to mine, I might do it.

Capital is actually closer to me then Cecil also as I make Capital in about 35-40 minutes. Cecil takes about an hr but my brother lives a few miles from Cecil so if I break I can just get towed to his garage and fix it. I wanted to go to the Nostalgic show at Cecil this weekend as my brother is but funds are tight for me and I am saving for Carlisle so even if I go to Cecil I wont be racing my car this weekend. Ron

Grudge events here turn into nightmares more often than not. Alot of small tire cars set on kill blowing up and crashing. Not sanctioned so Tech is minimal, last time I went I got 2 passes in 12 hours.

Maybe Capitol will be better, plus you get the chance to win some $. You get the N2O installed?

You wont get that many runs in. I just have a small block surly your big block is faster, I would bet you the 100. lol Those guys are there for a reason! I would stay away if I were you, on side note Atco has grudge day massacre on june 22 that I will go too.

and you probably have triple what I have in my BB... so you only run if you have a grudge? or do they just open the lanes and you start running? Capitol is usually run well and they move you along. It is also about as close to sea level as you can get, I haven't run this car there to date, however all of the others I have have run about 2 tenths faster.

Grudge Race=Fun Day,go there and have a good time if you want to race for $$$ do it if not don't just keep in mind what you went there to do not what someone else wants you to do and you will be fine.
When the Grudge Racers get in the staging lanes and get out of there cars and start BS just drive around them into the water box.
The one thing to remember Grudge Race Day is not the normal race day,you just more are less have to go with the flow...just because other people act a little Crazy does not mean you have to.

Yes I do have triple but all the guys there aren't going to tell you the truth. They don't let you know what there car runs and are there to win. I have friends going from NY city to that race and they say it's packed. You can run when there is not a money race going on. You will get 3-4 passes in all day and the starting line will be crowded with people and you will complain about it here if you go.

Do what we do. Have several buddies set up races over & over & others take on winners for an established $$ amount. The track annouces the race & the dollar amounts over the PA but no money every changes hands. But since its grudge matches we get many more passes with each car every time.

I'll be there saturday to hopefully make some coin with the 3m race and my friend Pete will be running in 28"vs 275.
The last time i went there it was kinda crazy because it really was just to packed with people.
As far as oil downs go its not like an import race and tech is pretty damn strict compared to the carolina tracks.
Remember the Silver S10 truck and get a small bet in the stand's...it'll pay gas and toll's

wonder if I have enough time to put the 150 shot on.... Oh well we'll see if I can get a few of my buddy's together for the trip. I'll be driving our Chump car at Summit the following week, so it won't kill me if I miss it.

You could make a crapload of cash with some people in the stands making bets. Know who's gonna win and bet accordingly. Lose a small bet every once in a while, walk out with some cash.

I think that is what he is saying. yuu FIX a few races, bet people in the stands and TAKE thier cash. FWIW I had a old guy come up to me after a race and say...boy you just won me a munch of money, thanks, and he bought me an Iced tea.
