Thanks.

Metro closed up the Mopar end of the business, they went back to making/supplying skateboards...yes really

www.rosevillemoparts.com has purchased the rights/marketing to some of their mopar product lines, contact them to see what's still available...

Their ebay store is still going, you could try contacting them through that.

Well thats just great. I just snagged a set of wheel opening moldings for my '68 Coronet, and it looks like rocker moldings are already long gone.

Nothing like buying parts I won't need for a couple years, instead of the ones I can use now.

With Metro, as well as some of the other companies going out-of-business these days, I can see the day coming when even reproduction parts are going to be as difficult to source as NOS originals.

Good thing Metro is gone, at least concerning wheel opening trim.

Take the Layson's trim for sure over Metro. Layson's is made of rolled aluminum sheet, formed and BRIGHT anodized, as was done originally. They look spectacular.

The Metro trash was extruded aluminum, formed, then DULL anodized. Problem is the chemistry of the aluminum for extrusion is not suitable for bright anodizing. As soon as you see the Metro trim, you know it's a long way from being bright.

Okay, Layson's, now that I have tooted your horn, how's about filling my backorder for 69 Barracuda, one pc right rear, Layson Part No. MY-679RP. Originally ordered a set of 4 on 10/30/09, but the right rear was defective and immediately returned and put on backorder.

Reordered again on 10/3/12, your order 76941. Still waiting, and please don't forget the $thousands I already sent your way.

At the top of the photo is original factory trim.

The middle one is Metro, and notice that the reflection of my camera and me is just a shadowy blurr.

The bottom one is Layson's, and you can see a pretty good reflection of my camera and me.

As already said, the Layson's is correctly made from aluminum sheet that bright anodizes beautifully. The trim is rather soft and pliable like the oriinal.

The Metro junk was made from extruded aluminum that does not bright anodize, and it is very work hardened and stiff.

It's a good idea to weld up the fender holes, because you may run into hole alignment problems wih anybody's trim, including NOS.

Of course, as we all know, NOS stands for "Nitrious (sic) Oxcide (sic) Systems", right Rick? Thanks for your call and anxiously awaiting.
