Should I put Teflon tape on the threads when installing a new neutral safety switch in a 727?

No, it's a ground point. It should have a sealing gasket.

sometimes the black coating/sealer gets chewed up on the comp ring so I use a little of the mopar black ATF/RTV on the ring to case edge but dry on threds.
