Where is the best place to get a variable speed wiper motor for my '68 cuda? The motor that was in it when I bought it is a '68 b body three speed motor.

Contrary to the opinions of some, I am not dumber than I look.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I thought the 3 speed and the Variable speed were the same.

Like to see some pictures of your 68 Cuda. 68 and 69 had a nice look to them.

I know 1969 A and B bodies share the same wiper motor. I would assume 1968 is the same is it not ?

Maybe. I know that they had different part numbers according to the white book.

I'm not really all that concerned about part numbers, but jest get one that fits. The one I have definitely needs to be redone. I'll use it as a core for a new one.

According to the '68 Chrysler parts book, both gtx6970 and mopar70rtse are correct. It shows A & B bodies use the same motor and the variable speed / 3 speed as the same part#.

A quick Google search using #3004114 found 2 available (depending on your budget ).

NOS at $595 (enter 3004114 in the search box to save a lot of scrolling)
http://www.tonysparts.com/SearchResults.asp

Used at $225 (look for #813033 in the right side column)
http://www.collectorsautosupply.com/query.asp?section=WIPERS&year=0&make=Mopar+A+Body

P.S. Great looking car!

Just curious, how exactly does it not "fit"?

Whats wrong with it? The visual resto on those is not too hard. The can is black and the rest can just be fine glass bead blasted.

Here's my original 68 barracuda 3 speed motor:

Mine does fit, but someone did a really bad home repair job on it so it needs to be redone. What I mean by "just get one that fits" is that I don't care if it has the correct part numbers. I want one that is redone correctly.

OK, now I understand. I would try here; http://www.passion4mopars.com
I have not dealt with them myself, but have heard many good comments here and on other Mopar sites.

I haven't had mine rebuilt with them either, but I would if it's going to need it. I did buy some parts and Kim is a very nice person to talk with and helpful.

I had mine done by Kim at Passion for Mopars and it looks outstanding. Dont have the car wired yet to try it, but i am sure if she took as much care as the looks, it works just as well.

Kim has been a great help, but doesn't have the motor I need. Does anyone sell the motors outright?
