Nice 66! Another local racer wanted to go to that but didn't get his together in time. I wanted to try out some NSS action this summer but the schedule isn't going to cooperate. Hopefully next year.

Congrats to Wally!

There were some very tough competitors out there. I have a long way to go to be competitive with that group..... Everyone I met was a class act. I am glad I made the trip up there. Long pull to get there from SW Houston though. We didn't get back until after 11pm last night. For me it was 1747 miles towing round trip. Burned lots of diesel this weekend hehehe.

You guys sure have some nice cars up there on that end of the country! We are thinking of making the haul back up in a couple of weeks for the Dave Dual Classic.

I just put up a phone video on youtube. I snapped some pics, and a couple of videos while I was sidelined Friday night for a dry wall screw in one of my slicks. Picked it up on the return road... Sorry for the quality, the light was going away and I had a greasy fingerprint on the lens so the focus is a little off....

The Victory N/SS group is one of the nicest bunch of racers I have ever met! They put on a great show and I hope to catch an event this year!

Way to go Wally!!!!
What folks don't know is after winning the semi round and coming back to the pits the top radiator hose came off. He made the call to the final round which wasn't much more than 10-15 minutes later.

Sure is great to see that kind of comradery in the pits. On the track they are tough competitors. Off the track these folks reminded me of an extended family reunion with lots of gentle ribbing and fun. I am sure glad I decided to make the trip.

Russ did a quick write up about some of the helping hands seen in the pits this weekend over on the Victory board.

I myself was in a bind with a screw in one of my slicks after my first pass Friday night. Kenny Gresham really helped me out finding a local tire shop. I had never met Kenny before and he went out of his way Friday night calling locals looking for help. Then first thing Saturday morning he took me into Madison to a Goodyear shop that fixed my tube, and I still made it back in time for the drivers meeting and qualifying passes. Says a lot about that bunch of folks. I am very much looking forward to racing with them again!
