Very happy with the results. Great learning experience. My car runs completely different now. Much smoother throughout the RPM range plus 10 more Hp and 12-ft-lbs TQ after tuning.

440 Six-Barrel 4sp. Mostly stock build.
.040 over.
Mr.Six-Pac Cam.
Pocket ported stock heads with 5 angle valve job.
Weisco 10-1 forged pistons
Forged Eagle Rods
Stock Exhaust manifolds
Fire-core Distributor and wires

How do these numbers look?

John

John, I can't read the column headings. Are we looking at horsepower or torque? I assume column 1 is HP and column 2 is torque? Air fuel in column 4? What did it make to the crank?

Where did you go? Danbury Chassis dyno?

Very nice!

Cudabin has put one together something similar to yours. I think he was planning to take it to the track this year. I'm looking forward to those results and I think they will be really impressive as well.

Do the 5300+ rpm power numbers look right to you? The one that I had was similar to yours (actually a smaller cam and a little less LSA) peaked about where yours does, but carried respectable numbers past 5600 rpm. In fact shifting at 5600 gave the lowest et and highest mph. Maybe lifters or fuel pressure

Nice numbers none the less

Hi Matt. RPM, HP, TQ, AF, MPH. Yes. Jeff at Danbury Chassis Dyno. He's a pro. Very meticulous and informative.

the power band pretty much mimics what my r/t did on the chassis dyno. my numbers were lower, being an automatic, but power curves are very close.

Those are excellent numbers for such a mild combo.

If those A/F's are correct, it's really fat up top and there is a bunch more in it.

Rob, can you educate me on what that means. By fat, do you mean rich? By more to it, do you mean we can find more power? If so, is there a sacrifice in driveability?

Thnaks.

Yeah fat is rich - and you are pretty rich from about 4000 rpm up. Those are in the range of most good running turbo cars. You'd make better power closer to 12.5:1 - 13:1 through the rpm range. Its probably in the outboards. Did Jeff play with the carbs much?

What he said. I just dyno tuned a 6pack car with almost same a/f. after spending 6 hours with carbs on and off got the cruse speed clean and the top end clened up and it picked up another 25 hp,and 35lbs. torque. and it picked up 55 hp under the curve and 60 ft ibs torque. The 4000lb car used to go 11:17@123 now goes 10:80's@124.

The above posts are what I was getting at when I wrote "more in it", as in more hp/tq.

The outboard carbs are likely not close to being right for jetting/settings.

Depending on fuel, say pump gas, a decent A/F range will be in the 12.0-13.0 to get max power. Yours are in the 10-11 range which is VERY rich for a naturally aspirated engine.
