I've been thinking about making a change, if you're interested let me know. Mine handles fantastic with bigger t-bars and sway bars f/r. 25mph ramps at 45-50, it just hunkers down and goes.
That sounds interesting to me. PM'd you!

Good grief. I shudder to think what those must weigh. 50#+ each or so.

I'm buying Jon's 17" wheels off of his wagon when he gets his replacements figured out. Not the lightest I'm sure, but they get me set up for good & relatively cheap tires. Plus I have zero qualms about how they'll look on my car… everything else in my price range I felt kind of iffy about at best.

The '66-67 rear wheel well is very restrictive, on a '66 Belvedere 4dr winter beater I had once a factory 15x8 Ramcharger/pickup wouldn't work on the rear, and just as a guess, the wagon openings aren't much different. The '68-70 well is much bigger. I am guessing from the look you have the late '80s M body, 15x7 wheels on there now. Dippy cop car wheels are identical but with slots. Don't know, just sayin' ...
It takes gasoline to interest me.

Well I'm adding around 3-3.5 inches in rim width and I'm going to use a 275 width tire vs the 215s I have now. I did some really rough measurements and I have around 2 inches between the sidewall and the outer fenderwell and 2.5-3 toward the inner well & spring.
The only solid comparison I could find was Hotchkis' 67 Coronet coupe they put all of their TVS stuff on back in 2009. They used 8 inch wide wheels with 255s in the rear for that one.
I don't know what the BS of these things is (yet), but if the width change is more or less equal inside to outside I'd think I'll be fine.

And NOT screw it up.
I've seen it done right once. Out ov probably a dozen different attempts. I must have seen it in a magazine because if it'd been online i'd have every pic available, but i dont. They were 18's and they looked about as good as possible, thinking a nice 8 outta 10. They actually looked good enough that it looked weird to see such a big steelie . Made the car look smaller. So one way or another, it will never look 100% right with excellent handling, but you shoot for the best you can do.
I have a cunning plan... on how to do it the best way, should i ever trip over a hockey bag full ov hundred dollar bills... until then, its aftermarket.

I here ya, but if I trip over that same bag I'd probably do a custom set of hurricane/vector wheels, the price quote I got was 15 grand for a set of 18's

Sorry for the late response, here is the only pic I have of it handy.
It will be getting Billet Specialties Dagger G's with M/T 295/45/17 DR's in back so a bit more sidewall.

The rears are heavy but not as heavy as you would think. The 15x10's/37's I had on my Scout were much heavier. Too heavy? Just add HP and brakes to compensate!
I cant find them on their site, how much are they?
