I found that if you use a plastic trim stick and get behind each clip and flex the clips pretty good it will allow the trim to go in a whole lot easier.

Congrats if you are, any level build/documented like this tends to be on the auction block 2 weeks after completion. Can't wait to see it when its done, gorgeous car.

Slowly cutting, sanding and fitting the exhaust puzzle piece by piece;-)

Slowly working my way aft piece by piece. I’m trying to keep the exhaust as close to the floor as to not see any of it hanging down from a side profile. Using welded on exhaust flanges certainly clean up the appearance.
Thanks
Pat

A question/comment. Is there a reason you went with an X-pipe over an H-pipe crossover? My own ear likes the more "classical" sound of the H-pipe. Can't wait to see you take it for the first drive, though.

Going with the X pipe will make for a much cleaner installation of the exhaust cut outs as I can install them right at the first curve aft of the headers. After over six years I am so looking forward to driving this car down the road!
Thanks
Pat

Won’t make it this year but be sure this car will go on the hotrod power tour in 2022.
Thanks

With the exhaust tack welded in place forward of the mufflers, I have started working on the tail pipes. Unfortunately with the inboard mounted 4 link I have to modify the TTI tail pipes to fit.
Thanks
Pat

I finished up the tail pipes, just need to cut the slash tips off to install the rectangular polish stainless exhaust tips. Then I started working on the cut outs. Fortunately one of our belt sanders is the same dimensions as the exhaust!
Thanks
Pat

That being said, when are you going to get that roller rear end out of there and get the Dana installed? whistling wink

Maybe we should put a Dana in my son’s 68 Mustang to balance things out;-)
Thank you!

Cutouts and S/S tips are fitted! Time to tig weld all the seams and have the exhaust ceramic coated to match the headers.
Thanks
Pat

All welded up and I will be delivering it to JetHot Saturday for a polished ceramic coating. All of the amateur welds that you can’t see are mine and all of the visible welds are by a good friend and expert welder. A man’s got to know his limitations;-)
Thanks
Pat
