I know its been asked but has anybody used the Mancinized HS rockers yet? The ones they call the bushed type even though they are not bushed. I like the no needle bearings but wonder about the alum. on steel shaft deal.

Dissimilar metals, one harder, one softer, play together well in many other parts of the engine. No worries. Think about the Briggs&Stratton aluminum connecting rod with no "bearing" running on the crankshaft. They don't seem to have durability issues.

Why do some people have bronze bushings installed on some rockers?
I did run a set of old Isky iron arms riding on the shafts that did work fine. I Wish I still had them. I hope someone has bought the Harlands and can comment on how they liked them. They look like a decent deal.

I have been running the hughes engines aluminum roller rockers on my 440 for 3 years with a solid lift cam....no issues with wear. The harland sharp rockers should work out fine.

I have about 1500 miles on mine. The 1.6 ratio versions are natural finish while the 1.5s were red and blue.
Mine are fine. One thing that impressed me is how the cranking compression numbers changed when I switched to the new aluminum arms. The numbers grouped together and were more even. This told me that the stock 1.5 stamped steel arms had some variance from the 1.5 ratio that they are supposed to be.

If you run an aggressive cam ramp that requires a ridiculous spring rate you may experience galling as the rocker "squashes" the oil from between the rocker and shaft. The bushings are insurance to keep the rockers moving smoothly.
If the Mancini bushed rockers would have been available when I had my Isky rockers done I would have bought them instead.
There was a large discussion/debate about them on the race forum about weather they were bushed or not.The ones I seen at the Harlan Sharp DID have bushings but I have heard the latest versions don't
