Just got my leaf springs out for some detailing.
I've noticed the springs have different part numbers.
Does this mean they are left and right handed or has one just been changed at some time??

Yes. Different P/N's for the left and right. Make sure they go back in the same position.

Ok.
Which side is which please?
I can remember where they came from but a previous 'careful' owner may have had them out and put them back wrong

If I remember right, I think odd number goes on the right and vise versa. Hope someone else chimes in with the right answer for ya.

0928 = 92nd day of 1968 - 1 Apr 1968
0858 = 85th day of 1968 - 25 Mar 1968

The part number should be stamped on the same leaf in a different location and should be 7 digits.

Example:
3004 767 = Left spring
3004 768 = Right spring

I do have another number stamped on the same leaf at the curved end.
It's the same on both of 'em
2539212
does this mean i've got 2 springs from the same side??

The 440 & Hemi came with two different springs - see example above. They may have been an option with other engines. Others used the same spring on both sides.

2539212 - If you have your broadcast sheet, look under Build Codes for "212" under the rear spring column.
