EXAMPLE: 300 race cars 75 dollars entry equals 22500.00
If you would take a portion of the monies paid in say 20 dollars and roll it into the next days race that would be 6000.00
That would leave 55.00 per racer to go toward track rental for the day per person. 6000 dollars divided into the classes for INCREASED pay-outs for the next days racing.

I don't want to keep this going with you but you are forgetting a few other things in your math.
-track rental
-insurance
-employees
-advertising
-food
-security
-pit parking pass stickers

and I'm sure there are others

Most of the time the promoter will rely on sponsors to pay the classes while the gate pays for these things.

Well since you commented again you ask Josh to fill in some of the blanks on track costs and I will make up a spread-sheet in my spare time to see how much the racers have coming to them. I will need numbers for racers, pit crew, and spectators also.

Just so everyone knows, since they want to make it public, I had to sell my 71 GTX to cover the debts from the 2012 and 2013 Rain outs just to try to do it again this year

on your facebook you said you were selling it to get into a blue, Viper SRT coupe.

We rent a local track for our car club. The rental covers the insurance / parking / employees / EMT ON DUTY/ security. This cost for one day is $850 for 10 cars.Plus if it rains and its called we pay nothing. The food goes on the plus side of the tally sheet. Advertising don't make me laugh Josh did none!!!
Poor guy had to sell his car to buy a viper?

A local track rental is WAY different then a track rental to hold a event.

I would really think that between sponsors, racers , spectators, swap meet spaces rented , other inside rentals , that Josh may not made tons of money , but , made.more than $10 bucks to his pocket is a sure bet ,
Be that as it may,
If all.he could take away was the he ran the best Mopar race that anyone could ask for , That should be the goal , if nothing else .
Walking away with those bragging rights would do.wonders for the pocket hook .
Instead , when issues do arrise , silent running , is the responce.
When a responce.is.given , it bears reminiscent of someone.going thru midlife crises ,.
Granted can't go backin time. But , I have never seen this event have the issues it is having , .

About 10 years ago I rented the dragstrip at Gateway for 5 hours on a Friday for a group of about 40 racers.
It cost about $2,900 total, it was $75 a person.
I wrote the check personally so I know it was that much.
For the rental having an ambulance there was required (part of the cost).
Technically it was a test & tune with no side by side runs were going to be allowed to run.
After they decided that we could handle the side by side runs they let us do some.

For a weekend track rental they said it was $35,000, and that was 10 years ago.

It's not cheap to rent a track for a weekend event.

It's a lot of headache putting on an event and a financial risk too.

I don't get the $75 a day thing that some feel they're owed for.
You paid $150 for a weekend event on the entry form, not two events at $75 a day.

Even at that it was a 3 day event, not just two days.
You could even get in the pits on Thursday and get teched in and get your car ready to race.

The year before (2012) at Indy the Saturday Gamblers race didn't happen because of rain.
People complained because they did get money for the "Free Race" (no extra entry required).
Everyone was to it was a free race so they were out nothing for an entry.

It's the same basic thing, you paid $150 to race for the weekend. It wasn't two separate races you paid separate entries for.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

WOW. It sure looks like 150 dollars for two races to me.

Entry Fees are easy!

Its $150 dollars for each and every points series class (THATS FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND)

The Payout Structure is equally as easy, as its the exact same for every class in the points series each day.

Winner Saturday $1500
Runner Up Saturday $750
Semi Finalists Saturday $300
1/4's Saturday $120
1/8's Saturday $75

Winner Sunday $1500
Runner Up Sunday $750
Semi Finalists Sunday $300
1/4's Sunday $120
1/8's Sunday $75

I'm still amazed at people who weren't there have so much to say.
I can't wait for them to hold a race and see how they do it

You racers are really just a bunch of girls who whine about every little thing. I run the show car side of the Monster Mopar events and we went through the same thing you guys did with the rain outs. Everyone paid their entry fees with not a single person asking for money back, and all they were there for was to have some fun in the sun and maybe get a $10 plastic trophy, none had a chance to win some money! Lighten up and do the best you can do at these events and for goodness sake have a great time and QUIT YOUR BIICHIN'... If you think you pay more than some of the show guys do with your cars you are sadly mistaken, Tell you what, why don't we switch sides for an event, you can show your little racey cars and we will run out show cars down the track and still won't care about the money! We are never given a chance to run our cars down the track, though we would love to have some time like they do at the Mopar Nats and several other events that have racing as part of the weekend program, but you guys are oiling down the track, hitting walls, and complaining when we want to have fun too. There, now I am sounding like you crybabies!

come race where there is no drama ... guaranteed payouts ...
We wont call you crybabies, or insinuate that you're entitled to anything. Our show car people wont call you a bunch of girls.
We respect you and appreciate you coming to our events!

You pay to race, thats what you'll get!
