Anybody have any experience with AIH chrome is Dubuque Iowa? We have a couple bumpers we need straightened and rechromed for a car they don't make repops for. Any thoughts? good or bad? Or with Keystone out of Brainard MN? Thanks! Anybody else here in the midwest that does it?

Tri-City plating. They only do bumpers and bumperettes but have a life time warranty on the job as long as you own the car.

AIH did my Challenger antenna bezel because the repop didn't fit. It cost $50 but it was worth it. It looks perfect. I got a quote for my bumpers but it was way more then Tri City.

I have used them in the past with great results!

At the Mopar Nats they actually had a bumper in stock for my 69 D200 truck, talk about instant gratification!

I've had a few sets done at Northstar in the Minneapolis area and have been happy.
I can't believe how expensive chroming of bumpers has gotten over the years.
I realize I'm getting old, but I think in the 80's I had sets done for about $150each and now I think I have heard they are about $400 each. Is that what everyone else is seeing?

I had heard that Dave Walden had used a company in Cuba, Missouri, but I don't know they name.

I think a couple years ago Tri City was around $375 each for my Challenger bumpers and $60 each for the big 73-74 bumper guards.

AIH was over $600 for each bumper. I think they do high end street rod and bike stuff. I'm sure their finished product would look better then Tri City's but it would be overkill for a stockish muscle car build I think.

A friend of mine just had a bad experience with Sioux plating on a pair of bumpers. They did them over and still full of pits etc. on the in your face top of the bumper. Ironically the bottom side was pristine. It was as though whomever did the work didn't know which side was the top
The bumpers were primo, just needed re-chroming. They said he was being to picky. so heads up
I have used keystone out of Minn and Tri city with excellent results

Mine were done at Ogden (sent by a local chrome company).. Was told they Triple plate them... VERY pleased with the job. Suppose I should say they ( front and back were done) are close to perfect ,but kinda spendy.. I think i spent $1000 for the pair..... Not sure what a price directly from them would be... Happy I sent them there

I send mine into ABS in Sioux Falls & they send them to Keystone in Brainard. Just sent one in and was told its been running 8-10 weeks but have seen a few hit that 12 week mark. Always been good results on everyone I've sent in. Probably been a good 20 we have sent in over the last15- 20 years.

Thanks for all the help. I guess it's been a long time since I was in the needing a bumper re-chromed market. Wow it's gotten pricey, freakin EPA sucks. Looks like Keystone is the best price with a solid guarantee. AIH sounds like they do REALLY nice work, but we're pretty pricey, pretty much double. Seemed like they mostly do #1 show car stuff, sounds like a nice shop. But more than I need for this car. Tri City sounded good as well, and about the same money, but just to pricey to ship heavy bumpers to TN. I'll report back with the good or the bad of it.

X2 on Ogden Chrome. They were about $425 with shipping both ways to make my mangled & rusty '67 GTX front bumper show quality, I mean absolutely flawless!
