I was thinking the small block Weiand X-cellerator intake was a 7545. I know cuz I've been looking for a cheap used one for quite awhile to no avail. class rules require it

An educated guess: The 7510 was a mid-to-late '70s answer to the Edelbrock Torker. Edelbrock's Tarantula started the move to X-type single plane intakes. The Torker was their street version, made for a lower rpm range. The other intake manufacturers followed suit as the X-type was sweeping the nation. I was building a street 350 for a chevelle at the time and I bought a Weiand 7504, which was their version of the Torker for sbc. I used a 221@ 50 lift camshaft and a 600cfm Holley and it ran good and got nice gas mileage, like 19 or 20. I remember the intake as being quite tall.
Weiand would add or change nomenclature to intakes to change with the times. That's where the name X-celerator came from. X-type intake made for acceleration. I would think that the outside part of the casting was all that was changed, the runners are probably identical. When runners changed, Weiand would change the model number.
So they function equally well, would be an okay choice for high performance street, although maybe not quite as good as a Torker 340, but the two brands tended to be quite equivalent on power back in the day.

Here's the manifold I'm thinking of buying:
From what you've described I think a Edelbrock Performer RPM or a Performer RPM Air-Gap would be a better choice.

I have a Edelbrock Torker 2 intake that looks almost identical to that Weiand intake,#5076, its rpm range is 2500-6500. I was selling for $150 shipped in the lower 48, just had it bead blasted,no port work done,no stripped holes etc. The Edelbrock site says the carb pad height is 5.25" at the front and 6.19" at the rear of the pad. Didn't mean to hi-jack,figured I'd throw it out there in case you're interested.
