barracuda7199 OP enthusiast Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 280 GEORGIA	Looking for an electric rotary grinder that will do the job. Air tools are a bit loud. I am trying to find a grinder with the flexible driveshaft. What is in your toolbox?

I buy my pieces separately off ebay as you get better pricing that way and can get the heavy duty parts. The 44T hand piece is the one to go with as its for 1/4 inch shank. I always keep extra parts on hand just in case a cable or something needs changed. Here is a link just to show you the needed pieces but its priced way to high. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOREDOM-K-5240-W...=item1e67229771 If you are only going to do a couple of jobs buy a electric or air grinder from Harbor Freight. If you go with electric buy a router speed control so you can SLOW it down some. I love mine and its all I've used for the last five years. 80fbody mopar 8 Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 596 Mass.	How about this shaft for a start? Looks like it could be chucked in a drill, etc. Has the 1/4" collet your looking for. Combine that with the rotary dial linked earlier & you could build yourself a setup reasonably. Disclaimer: never tried one of these shafts myself.

And that is why I posted different options. Some guys can get away with Harbor Fright and some can't. He didn't give us a lot of info to go by. Do ya want to spend 40 dollars or 400 dollars. Some head porters have six 300 dollar grinders so they never have to change a burr. They just grab a different grinder. I use mine about 5 days a week minimum so I have about 4-5 Foredom grinders that I picked up when the price was right. I hate air as the noise of the compressor drives you crazy and the electric are big and awkward. dwayne welder enthusiast D Joined: May 2010 Posts: 207 warren, mich.	Hello All!!! This could turn into a very good thead!!! Some people who now me on here will know!!! I use AIR & ELECTRIC!! If you use air, the grinder will stall if cutter gets stuck!!!! It is also faster at cutting! I use eletric for some final touch up and around seat blending. I have a LARGE "DUMORE" that i use for rough polising, and smaller 1/4hp for finishing polish. I use foredom cable grinders, dumore cable grinders, and also i use a Millwauki 1/4" chuck, 4000rpm drill for polishing intake ports on heads, and intake manifolds!!!
