The missing part of the tag wasn't there. Only what's seen in pic.

I thought the warranty tag was on the front of the engine??? Mine has the one on the side as well but no remnance is a tag that I can tell. You can see the rivot in the edge of this picture. I am also noticing the T has the right side of the top bar progressingly thinner as it goes to clsoe to flat on the far right side.

This is a car I checked out about six months ago. The motor was not in the car but was a matching setup. The Body had about a 1/2" of dust it had been in the garage for 30 years. This motor has a casting date of 11/25/69 and 312 build date. This was an early built TA. No T on either side.

so whats the conclusion lots of input, i know several t/a aar folks and have one myself, and we have mixed bag, this may be a little premature but it seems that blocks made in 70 have this T in 69 no T. QUESTION IS WHY?? like one person on this forum suggested, easier to indentify?? means track? not sure, but i have a call into another source that worked at chrysler, untill then we need to keep digging, this is very interesting.. BARRY i know youre working on this, please post update on youre thoughts....

I know of a quantity of old 60's and early 70's over counter blocks and recall seeing either a 318 or 361 block with the T.
Thought it was odd and at the time I wondered if it signified Truck which we know now is not the case.
I know they all still exist and when I get a chance to get back there, I will get some pictures to confirm.

Yeah it does appear that way. Hopefully we'll find out why. My first assumption was this meant that it was a warranty block but others have posted matching number blocks with "T".

They supposedly stopped production on the AAR's around the 17th of April not sure about the TA's. These April "T" blocks must have been still hot from the casting while being put together.

Almost seems as though the later produced 340.3 and 340.4 castings were produced with the T on them.

I think I know the answer - it stands for "twin", only because I am a twin and was also born in April of 1970. There, case closed. Happy New Year!
