I just hold two wires together until its time to go!

Something that I have found is its whats best for you. I know a couple of guys that have put 5 or 6 different buttons in their cars until they found what they liked best. The most common us the biondo adjustable button. Don't remember the name of the switch but dedenbear also makes on like it.

Back in the swing of things at Painless again! Great to be back!

If you want the best button buy any of the adjustable ones so you can tune it to your physical reaction, similar to a delay box except it is not controlled.

If you or the car are pretty fast the Biondo Terminator button or the Apex Machining button seem to be the two favorites.

If you or the car are slow reacting, you might need a faster button to cut good lights. I personally have both a short throw button and a Terminator button I switch back and forth between.

I think button position is just as important as the selection of the button itself. My RT's were all over the place until I finally put mine on the steering wheel. I used a Kirk? mounting bracket that puts it right under my thumb and it has been deadly ever since. What ever location you can be consistent is the best.

RJ makes this one. It's micro switch with all metal adjuster, mount, and button. I tried a couple before settling on this one, and it's not too pricy.

This is finally what I used... tried a few and then
this one... I was more comfortable with it on the
wheel but you can see I have it recessed below the
wheel surface... this is the Biondo one

I don't use anything special. Just a switch with and adjustable button. Mounted on the wheel, tried other places most consistent on the wheel.

The Grainger switch:

No matter what button is used the amount of pressure you put on your thumb or finger can cause a few hundreds difference.

The one I showed above on the wheel is adjustable and
I needed that on my car... running box and no box
classes I had to slow the reaction down... its suppose
to change .3

I have a Biondo Terminator

It is mounted on a bracket off the top of the dash

I can't say enough good things about it ..

You can adjust it

Most often I run 4 rings but, in the day to night races , I pull a ring for 1st round

Works great

I guess I am the only one that DOESNT like the Biondo Terminator... IMO, the length of the switch has too much inconsistency and I could do everything from an instant launch to never releasing the brake.. all depending on where I put my thumb..

I thought it was way too long and the rings were to
broad of change... the one I show has a thread and
is much shorter

1 ring is .005 or .002 if its one of the bottom 2 I believe. That's not much.

This is the button I have in the car right now.. I found it to be easy to adjust and was able to get enough delay for me..

The only bad thing is my kid leaned on it sideways and the entire button broke apart in pieces.. and I guess I'm in the market for an adjustable button too..

Some nice options. I guess i just really need to decide if I want to a quick release or the adjustible kind. I have only made a few passes with a button, so its not like im used to either style. Might start out with a quick release and see how it goes, then go to a delay if i need it.

We use the reactor also which is also adjustable for more or less travel. We have it on our P.P. Shifter

If you're racing without a delay box, then get an adjustable button.Even if you need the car to react quickly you can shim it up,or adjust it up so it reacts almost like a quick button.Adust your launch rpm to get reaction times in the ballpark, then leave rpm alone and fine tune with the button.

I bought the Biondo that Jeepmon has in his link. Didn't have enough delay. Got a terminator and now I have it dialed in at my weekly track.
