I have been fighting vibration and a little bit of slop on my left front wheel. The car is a '70E with repop late A body spindles. The bearings, especially the outer, seem to fit a little loose on the spindle. I replaced bearings with new Timkens and not much better. Shimming the adjusting nut to get "perfect" adjustment helped a little but it still loose.
Today I measured spindle diameter at the bearing location with digital caliper. Measurements are:
Left Right inner outer inner outer obs 1 1.375 0.7445 1.375 0.7455 obs 2 1.3745 0.7435 1.375 0.7455 obs 3 1.375 0.7425 1.379 0.75 avg 1.375 0.744 1.376 0.747
The left measures smaller but I don't have specs.
Does anybody have diameter specs for the late A spindles?

I have a new pair of magnum dropped a body spindles I can sizeup Tuesday, but I'm not certain if they are 72 or 73 sized, will let you know.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Help on dimensions please! My FSM lists the original dimensions, not the late A body re-pops
I have a Factory '74 Service Manual in front of me and cannot find those spindle specs.
Where was it in the service manual you were looking at?
And what specific year and model(s) manual was that?
