Looking for pics of jesel small block belt drive with motor plate, front distributor, and remote water pump. Replacing my current engine that uses stock style water pump and motor plate. Wondering about spacers and water fittings. Thanks

I have the exact set-up you are describing....not sure what I have for pics on my computer. I also have Star Vac pump and Peterson Wet sump as well as my coil mounted on the front motor plate. I will see what I can find for pictures.

Couple of different directions you can go with your plate set up. No need for the special water pump spacers if you use a remote pump and push water into the core plugs instead.

I make remote water pump adapter blocks for SB Mopar engines. These blocks should work with a Jesel belt drive as long as the standard bolt pattern is being used.

9.20 deck. I like that set up! Did you make the motor plate. Is the motor plate the same space out as the stock timing case cover?

I can't speak for Andy, but I don't think his set up works for short deck blocks as the upper water pump hole is in a different location. If you are changing from a timing cover set up to a jesel belt drive you will need some special spacers to offset the motor plate the specific difference between the two. I have been thru this so it is something I an very familiar with.

Sorry, the stuff I make is all for the standard deck height blocks. I have the CAD files for the race blocks but I haven't made any parts yet for those blocks.

The heads choice will make a difference in coolant routing. I have a maziere remote pump and shove water into the block through the center core plugs , then out of the W-9's via six lines to an expansion tank / thermostat housing. Not pretty , but it works on paper.
This is also a Weber drive.

I had spacers on my 421 that adapted from the low deck pattern to the tall deck pattern. Then a mopar water pump bolted right up.

Tim Davis of Indy made the spacers. They were the same thickness as the stock timing cover. It would not be rocket science if you could give someone the pattern of your 9.2 deck block and a stock water pump. Any CNC shop can make this. The cost is much less if you can fin someone who has already done the work. I could probably make some fairly easy with my cheasy XY table and cutter in my drill press. Someone like Andy or Ritter or Davis could sell you some cheaper.

Mezier, Ritter, Weber.... none have spacers. I opted the the "shade tree" look and cut the top off an Arrow timing cover I procured. If Brian does a run of spacers i indicated to him I'm interested.... until then this will allow my W8 9.200 mill to bolt up in place of my iron MP headed 360.

I'm on it. Shouldn't be to long.

....figured if I posted up a pict you'd not be able to stand something so hideous on such a beautiful combo!

...it took me two days to finally cut that cover! I wasn't comfortable doing that to a perfectly good part. I will add, to those even remotely interested, I did have to have the radius on the cover welded up to fill in a gap where the waterpump mates to. Just filed it flat by hand.

Brian,
Do you have pics of the spacers you are making, I might be interested in a set also.

I used this pump........no worries about timing cover , spacers etc.
Ryan at Shady Dell had the aluminum core plugs that are threaded for 3/4 NPT and went with -12 line into each center core plug.
One benefit was that I had a lot of options for where to locate it.
I don't have a pic yet , but it is just below the outlet on the radiator and maybe 8" back , so a short 1 3/4 "L" of radiator hose was all I needed to get it fed.
The 55 GPM might be a bit generous , but the stat will help there I think. I am pretty sure they make a 35 GPM in the same configuration.

you know what they say about hindsite John.... I don't know why I was so hell bent on using the small block mezier pump. Even the water pump on my big block in our old Mirada was a divorced unit (shogun). Guess I was blinded by having something familiar to the previous small block in our Duster. Either way....forward we go. I appreciate your input on my build and providing me with that motor plate you sent me.

Bob Ette, Arch Engineering Integration made me both a motor plate and spacers to use my Meziere pump with a 9.00 deck R3 block. However I have a Weber belt drive.

I have the Weber spacers and belt drive, My spacers have places to hook 2 water hoses to. I made an 8an go to the side of the block between 5/7 and 6/8, Then ran a 6an to the center of each head below the exhaust port.

After studying the two systems for some time....I'm not confident that one spacer design will work for both a Weber drive and a Jesel drive. The Weber design is more versatile for options of water pump use and front distributor use than the Jesel. The Jesel drive uses the top block mounting hole for the front mount distributor drive and this takes away from the ability to put a spacer on that will seal to the water inlet. No doubt that Jesel didn't understand what they were doing.....they should have just left their cover plate with no water passage and just forced a remote pump and inlet thru the core plugs. Weber gave you the option to do either. With that said, I personally like the remote pump as I can get to my spyder gear for adjustment without having to remove anything and can see straight on how much I moved the timing. Anyway, I have decided to make a run of spacers that will fit the Weber system. I guess if you go Jesel (like I did) then you will have fewer options for the water pump. Here are a couple of renderings of what the spacers will look like (with the addition of two ports that can be utilized in addition to the front port that lines up with the water pump).

Can you change the inlet to a an fitting? I don't like regular rad hoses on my race motor.

Kinda hard to see in the pic but Albert Racing Engines in Wytheville, Va. modified my existing MP (Arrow?) timing cover for use the Weber belt drive on my old turbo 9.20" deck R3/W8 combo.
