Is the air bag light on too? Sound like a bad clockspring-very common on these.

yes air bag light is on will the clock spring from a 96 caravan with a deployed airbag work? or does it have to be a good airbag? thanks

It could work, if is a good part. I would just put a new one in and be done with it. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it, they are easy to put in. Make sure the other van has cruise.

there was a recall on the clockspring , but i don't recall exactly what year. when it's bad, the airbag lite will be on and the cruise won't work.
