What is the difference between 71 and 72 ignition locks. I have two brand new 72 lock sets and was wondering if I could use one in my 71 Duster? Thx for any help

Somewhere between 70 and 73 they went from a screw in pin to retain the lock cylinder in the steering column and changed to a spring loaded tab.

After a little research it appears that they changed over in 72.

70-71 are one type and 72 - mid 80's are the other.

That does not mean it will not fit the column. It may or may not, I don't know that for sure.

There is a subtle difference between the locks, I had a lot of trouble finding the right lock for my 71 RR. I even bought one and had to send it back. You will have to lay them side by side to see the difference.
