Does anyone know where I can get an engine stand that I can mount the engine onto and run it? I think I've seen these but don't know where.
Thanks.

There are some around, but kinda pricey. These guys are near me, but after checking their prices I built my own with some scrap square tube.

Most premade run stands are set up for Chevys that do not need a bellhousing.
Better to build your own.

2x4's is a good idea. I didn't think about that.
70runner, that's nice! I think I'll try making my own. I bought a welder years ago and have yet to use it. I'll make this my first welding project. If it doesn't work I'll use wood. I can get plenty of good, used pieces of wood for free.
Thanks.

I saw one in our local store about a year ago. If you go to the store they have a REAL BIG book of most of their products. Heck they even had a lathe in there that was over 6000 dollars.

Makes a great welding project. Mine is actually an adaptation of a commercial product I was able to take measurements on. Here it is in final checkout before 440 break-in run.

That's made for a chevy, won't work for a mopar.

I just posted it to give the poster some ideas. They look pretty easy to make and set them up for different size engines. The frame from an engine stand off craigslist would probably help get the project started. I see them on there for 25 dollars all the time. The one from harbor freight had tubes that slid to make the needed adjustments.

You could buy a couple of dyno bellhousings and make it pretty much universal. Mopar,BOP,Chevy and Ford fit mine.

As said they are pricey. I'd make one with square tubing & bolt it together & some of it will need to be welded & truck it to a welder or pay him to come to you if he has a portable welder. You'll still come out way ahead plus the personal satisfaction of having done it yourself
