The 4 speed cam did make more power even though they were both rated at 275HP. They also would not idle dead smooth like the auto cam. Its too bad that Chrysler stopped using them in stick cars. It was a great package and wasn't offered for very long. If you dont find one NOS or an off the shelf copy, PM me, I can get you one that is basically a modern copy and produces more power. You would need to run a different valve spring.

Yep the 1968 340 stick cars were the only ones to get the more radical cam. My brother bought a 68 Dart 340 four speed in 1973 and I will always remember how it had a lumpy idle. But boy did that 340 run hard for a stock 340 car. Ron
