HAHA, funny, the Edelbrock bigblock head is just an improved version of the 915.

If you compare cross-sections of an E Performer RPM and OEM '915' head side by side, that statement doesn't sound so valid. The Performer RPM intake runner is significantly different than any OEM Mopar BB head, given the architectural constraints of being a standard-replacement head.

The fact that the same CNC program works for both the Performer RPM and the 440Source Stealth head is a dead giveaway where the "insides" of the Stealth came from. Run that same program on any OEM BB head and all you'd get is a lot of big holes in the water passages.

I have to think that one could build a better street head with longer valves which uses the same rocker assemblies, most likely by changing the valve angle, while also using a modern combustion chamber. It's a shame it hasn't been done...

It has... and it's called the Indy EZ head.

However, Indy dropped the ball on their standard-port version by simply trying to neck down what's really a Max Wedge runner and, as a result, messing up the flow characteristics of the head OOB. Dwayne Porter mentioned this issue w/ the standard-port version years ago, and Hughes Engines recently posted some info on their web site about how they fill in the roof to correct the same thing.
