Finally got the Duster into the 11's. After I lost first round cause I sucked driving the finish line I decided to take some weight out of the car and see if I could get into the 11's. I weighed the car before the 1st time shot 3,495lbs. with me in the car. 1st. t/s the car went a 12.182/109.57 2nd. t/s 12.180/109.79. 1st. round 12.137 on the brakes was going a 12.12something going off the 1000' so I didn't kill much. As I mentioned I sucked driving the finish line cause I was .004 on the tree. Anyhow since I had lots of time to kill I took out the spare tire and the 50lb. plate that I had under the tire along with all the hold down hardware and went up and made a t/s the car went 12.022/110.81 with a so far best 60' of 1.640 I weighed the car after the pass 3,390lbs. Next I took out the pump spray bottle from behind the seat and a small toolbox and I cooled the car down to 105 degrees go in the water at 125* and the line at 135* the car went 11.943/111.80 and 1.634 60' weight after that pass was 3,370. It's not bad for a cast flat top 360, 9.9 compression, 232/237@.050 hyd., mild pocket ported 2.02/1.60 J heads, LD340 vac.750, heddman 1-5/8" header, 3" summit exhaust with dynomax ultraflows, point's dist. with a super coil, 3.91 gears, 255/60/15 M/T drag radials, 727 trans.. It gets driven on the street but not to far because I have a water pump drive on it and an 8" converter right now. Any suggestions on making it go faster without spending money are welcome.

Congrats on the new best and on getting in the 11's. That is a very nice looking Duster as I like it. Oh and I still use the Acell super coil and the MP orange ECU. Ron

Very nice looking and running car for that combo. A few cheap tricks that we did to our street cars running that Et was to up tire pressure in the front to 40 pounds. Also the 750 vacuum carb can work well if tuned right but we found the 750 mechanical (double pump) to be even faster. i even tried going form a 750 mechanical to a 850 carb and my street car went from 12.0's to a 11.82 on the same race day. See if you can borrow a set of aluminum wheels.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

I have an FBO Dist, coil and rev. limiter ign. mod. for the car but it's out right now because the top bushing went bad. They are fixing it for free so no complaints. That being said the car is no faster with that ign. in the car then with the points and super coil.

Great suggestions. Already running 50lbs. of air in the front tires. I have back to back the vac 750 and a known good 750 annular booster DP and they were virtually the same. The vac. carb has the air horn cut off and I have spent a lot of time tuning it over the years. This is the 3rd car that that carb has put into the 11's the 1st one I went from a 750DP going 12.0's bolted it on after making 2 runs that day with the 750DP and went 11.84 That DP would not leave clean no matter what I did with it. I would love to put aluminum wheels on but I still have 4" BP and I don't know anyone with 4" BP aluminum wheels. Thank you for the suggestions. I have considered trying my 950 HP on the car but haven't had the opportunity.

Very cool car, I've really become more interested in the mild street cars these days.

Very nice unsuspecting car. Some ricer kid is going to get the
surprise of his life!
Some years back I was running steel rallye wheels on my Demon.
Just bolting on a set of Centerlines picked me up a touch over a tenth.
Similar DA, no other changes.
You have a good running smallblock for what it is. We all know people
who have spent more and went slower.

Wow, that is very generous of you. Thank You for the offer. We are too far apart for borrowing but how much are you looking to get for them, what size are they and whats the condition?

Sorry I don't have a better picture but the car is in the car trailer. I am having new struts, spindles, and brakes put on the car in about 10 days and I am going to get wheels like I have on the back.
