Ok kids this afternoon shut car off but then my daughter turned key back on but left it in the run/start position while my wife was in friends car talking in the parking lot which was maybe 10 minutes. She tried to start it but it wouldn't start. I tried it about 11/2 hours later same thing. Acted like it could barely turn over but not like it was dead. I tried it about 1 1/2 hours later held foot to floor. It turned over but kinda like it wanted to start but kept turning over til it finally fired off. Both times to me it acted like a car is flooded. So if key is left in the run position would or could it be pumping gas into cylinders? Seems like once it cleared itself out it was fine. Drove it home 15 miles no problems. Never acted like the battery was weak were it couldn't turn it over. Any ideas?

There should not be a flooding issue. The only issue would be a drain on the battery and that is evidenced by the slow cranking.

No, the fuel pump will only run for a few seconds without seeing a crank sensor signal. BUT, if the battery gets below about 10v the electronics won't work...

If it is like every other newer car on the planet the computer will shut everything off whether you want it to or not. Tried to use the headlights on my Acura for a work light in the yard last night. 3 minutes or less and they went click by themselves. Had to leave it running.

As far as your car flooding, the pump runs less than 30 seconds if the ecm doesn't see evidence of life.

shouldn't flood, but does not mean that something isn't working correctly and allowed it to flood.

If an injector is leaking, all the fuel pressure that builds when the pump primes could bleed off and pool in the intake, which could cause it to act flooded when starting.

If you press the gas pedal with the engine not running and the ignition switch on it will cause at least one injector to fire. I did it on my 99 300M once and it turned over a while before starting.

It could have flooded by constantly doing a key on key off on the car. The injectors have a prime pulse during initial key on if temps are low. Cycling the key on and off could flood the car yes.

When you held the accelerator down, it initialized flood clear after TPS got past 70% and fired coils without firing injectors.
