They were just normal "Heavy Duty" springs, right? How many leafs per side? How about the suggested upgrade spring for passenger side? Were the springs bare or painted black (or silver)? Any pics of originals?

I don't thing the original '63 MW springs were any different than any other BB car. HD springs and shocks were available from the dealer.

63 springs are 7 leaf right & left, part number on bottom leaf is 2403524

I am working on a 63 maxie as well and would also like to know if the springs should be left natural or painted black?

64 MW leaf springs were painted silver (after assembly) but I can't say for sure if that went for 63 as well.

What I found that they were black for 63. I made mine black.
But correct me if I'm wrong.
